Sheriff’s Office Investigates Commercial Vehicle Injury Accident

On Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 at 1:20 pm, Adair County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Gary Roy was dispatched to KY 704, approximately 7 miles south of Columbia.  

Adair 911 received a call of a large truck that had left the roadway and overturned.

Preliminary investigation shows that Scott Peacock, 47, of Edmonton, was operating a 1995 International straight truck on KY 704, when he dropped off the right shoulder of the highway.

Peacock over corrected, left the roadway, struck a mailbox and overturned. 

Peacock and his two passengers, Jessica Williams and Johnny Slayton, were treated on scene by Adair County EMS and transferred to TJ Health Columbia. 

The accident remains under investigation by Deputy Roy.
