J.O.Y. Ministries prep for Mission Week


J.O.Y. Ministries is gearing up for its annual Mission Week to be
held July 24-28th. We expect 75 local you and over 25 college
and community volunteers to fan out acroos Adair Co. to serve
the community and be Christ's hands and feet. We are in need
of food donations to serve to the shut-ins, churches to sign up
for meals to serve the youth, monetary donations to cover the
costs of supplies for the week, monetary donations to cover the
cost of backpacks, shoes, and school supplies for our communities
neediest families, and referrals of folks in our area that need
something done they cannot do themselves ie. a ramp for an
elderly/diabled individual, a paint job for a sings mom's home,
the repair of a persons porch, etc. If you can help in any of

3rd Annual Southern Kentucky Elite Basketball Camp


The 3rd Annual Southern Kentucky Elite basketball
camp for boys and girls entering grades 3-8 will be
held July 10–12 at the Lindsay Wilson College
Holloway Wellness Center from 8:30-11:30 AM.
The camp will include ballhandling, agility shooting,
position drills, shooting competition, three on three
and five on five competitions.
The camp will be staffed by Coach Mark Fudge,
Coach Craig Pippen, and several former high school
and college players and coaches.
The pre-registration fee is $50 and The walk up fee
is $60. Proceeds from the camp will go to Operation
Christmas Child. Applications are available at the
Holloway Wellness Center. If you need additional

Chamber Annual Golf Tournament May 19th

The Chamber of Commerce annual Golf Tournament at The Pines
of Lindsey Wilson, will be held May 19th with a shotgun start at
1:00 p.m. CT and a blind draw pairing with "A" players. Entry fee
is $30 per player with prizes for first, second and third place teams.
You can bring your own team but will not be eligible for prizes. There
is also a $10,000 prize for the first Hole in One on Hole 15 and other
prizes throughout the day. Food will be available and sold through the

Adair Co. Retired Teachers Association

The Adair County Retired Teachers Association will have its last
meeting of this year on Tuesday, May 16th at 11 a.m. CT at
Anderson's Pizzeria.  Meetings are for all Adair County Retired
teachers and those who reside in Adair county regardless of the
county or counties where you were employed. 

Our guest speaker is Meredit Corbin who will give us up to date
information about the proposed Needle Exchange Program for
Adair County. Remember to bring a food item for Joy Ministires.
We welcome all retired teachers to our meetings and look forward
to great fellowship together.
