Adair County Genealogical Society doesn’t meet in September of each year as the first Monday is Labor Day.
So…we do have the following coming up in our schedule:
Sept. 9—Adair Heritage Association quarterly meeting, 5pm at Research Center, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.
Sept. 12–Lanterns & Tombstones at the Columbia Cemetery, 7pm
Sept. 20–Saturday Session: Tombstone cleaning at noon with Annita Dial, City Cemetery–please let us know if you plan to attend so supplies can be stocked…
Oct. 6–ACGS regular meeting date–business meeting and scheduling for 2026, no program
Oct. 10-11–Downtown Days: Homecoming of Genealogists & Historians at the Research Center both days–Friday, 10-4; and Saturday, 10-2
Oct. 1-11–Columbia/Adair County photo contest in conjunction with Downtown Days: 8×10 color or b&w photos of subjects within bounds of Adair County. Blind judging as well as public favorites. Entries must be in by Oct 6 to compete. [Entries taken Oct 1-6]
Oct. 10–Tebbs Bend Nigh Ride–Annual hayride and tour of the Civil War Battle at Tebbs Bend, 5-7 [Eastern Time] at the Homeplace on hwy 55.
Oct. 13–Annual Silent City Tour of the Columbia Cemetery: Several participants portray individuals buried here. 5pm. Meet at the Research Center to walk over; or park in the Judicial Center lot.
Oct. 24–Shot, Stabbed, Hanged and More on the Columbia Public Square: Walking Tour of downtown Columbia with Dave Thomas and Mike Watson. 7pm, drizzle or shine!
Nov. 3–Adair County Genealogical Society program: Thanksgiving/ Mayflower program with Annita Dial. 5pm.
Nov. 8–Annual Adair Regional Book and Craft Fair at the VFW building. 10-2.
