The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office is issuing this statement regarding former Chief Deputy Brian Pickard.
“In March 2025, Brian Pickard was placed on administrative leave after Sheriff Benningfield identified discrepancies in an invoice addressed to the department. Following a prompt and thorough investigation, Pickard was suspended and the case was referred to the Kentucky State Police. Referring to an outside agency the department was assuring transparency of the investigation. Brian Pickard is no longer employed by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office.
We are cooperating fully with the Kentucky State Police and other federal agencies as the investigation continues. Our office remains committed to transparency, fiscal integrity, and serving the community with the highest level of professionalism.”
