Annual Military Kids Day at the state Capitol set for February 25.
As your senator, it’s my honor to invite military children and their families in our community to participate in the annual Military Kids Day at the state Capitol on Tuesday, February 25. This special event celebrates the resilience, sacrifice, and contributions of military children as young heroes who serve alongside their parents or guardians in the military.
When your mom, dad, or guardian serves, you serve alongside them. You share in their sacrifices—whether it’s time apart, frequent relocations, or the challenges of adapting to new schools and communities. We see you, we thank you, and each year in Frankfort, we honor you.
This year’s Military Kids Day is packed with exciting activities including
- exploring a Black Hawk helicopter and Aviation Museum flight simulators,
- participating in a Capitol scavenger hunt,
- a tour of the Kentucky Capitol,
- attending a committee meeting focused on military-related issues, and
- paging for your legislators. Please consider joining me as my Senate page.
It’s a day designed just for you and an opportunity to connect with others who understand the unique journey of military life.
To participate, families must contact Senate Clerk Donna Holiday at donna.holiday@kylegislature.gov and provide the following information. The deadline to register is Monday, February 17.
Military Kids Day is one of my favorite events of the year because it gives remarkable young people the recognition they deserve.
I hope military families here in the 16th Senate District will consider joining us in Frankfort to celebrate the contributions to our military kids.
I hope to see you on February 25. Let’s make this a day to remember for the incredible military kids of our district!
