COLUMBIA, KY. (10/21/2025) Lindsey Wilson University students will get a sneak peak at what might be at the other end of their college education during the week of Nov. 3-7.

That’s when the university will bring more than three dozen guests to campus as part of “Career Week 2025.” Sponsored by the Lindsey Wilson Office of Career Services, the five days will include panel discussions about a myriad of career possibilities opened because of a Lindsey Wilson education, a graduate and professional school fair, and a business etiquette dinner.

Lindsey Wilson Director of Career Services Annissa Crewe-Brown said she came up with the idea for the weeklong event after hosting successful law school panel discussions on campus for Lindsey Wilson students.

“I liked how those events went much deeper than a normal career fair,” said Crewe-Brown. “Students not only heard from law school officials, but they also had numerous opportunities to interact with them and ask questions.”

So Crewe-Brown’s office partnered with the Lindsey Wilson Alumni Office, who helped recruit Lindsey WIlson alumni to fill the week’s five career panels: healthcare and allied health; business, finance and entrepreneurship; STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), sport and ministry; education, social sciences and public service; and creative careers, media and communication.

Under the leadership of Alumni Director Allison Cross ’09, the Alumni Office has been promoting greater engagement between Lindsey Wilson students and alumni. Earlier this year, the Alumni Office launched the Lindsey Wilson Alumni Mentoring Network, which allows alumni to give back to their alma mater through speaking and mentoring events with students.

Each day during “Career Week 2025,” a different career panel discussion will be held in the university’s Norma and Glen Hodge Center for Discipleship from 9:30-10:30 a.m. CT on Nov. 3-7.

“Lindsey Wilson has so many successful alumni who are eager to be part of this,” said Cross. “It will be great to have our alumni back on campus to connect with students, offer career advice and network with them.”

Crewe-Brown said she is especially excited that the panels will encourage students to interact with speakers and ask questions about possible careers, which she said should make for interesting conversations.

“When the panel has a bit of Q&A with the audience, it will make for a more meaningful event for the participants and the students,” she said. “It’s so much better than just showing up to a reception to get a donut.”

Crewe-Brown said the panels will help students realize that not everyone took “a straight career path” after graduation.

“This will show them that many people did not take a straight career path from their major to where they are today in their career,” she said. “Most of the time, there is not a specific major that leads someone to a successful career; instead, it’s a good education combined with professional experiences.”

Cross said she hopes the week’s events also help students appreciate the numerous benefits of a Lindsey Wilson education.

“A Lindsey Wilson education opens so many different avenues for students to take,” said Cross. “And this week will show our students a lot of those options.”

Lindsey Wilson University Director of Career Services Annissa Crewe-Brown said one of the purposes of “Career Week 2025” is to show Lindsey Wilson students the myriad professional paths they can take because of a Lindsey Wilson degree.: http://app.readmedia.com/news/attachment/219280/LWU_Career_Week_2025.jpg
