Fast Start Fades as Adair County Falls to Campbellsville

The Adair County Lady Indians saw an early lead slip away Monday night as they fell 53–45 to Campbellsville Lady Eagles.

Adair County jumped out strong in the opening quarter, outscoring Campbellsville 15–12 and building as much as a 12-point advantage in the first half. Reese Bardin helped set the tone early, finishing with a team-high 16 points while knocking down five field goals and going 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.

However, momentum shifted after halftime. Campbellsville responded with a 17-point third quarter, taking advantage of an 11-point scoring run to erase the deficit and take control heading into the final period. Adair County struggled to find consistency from the floor down the stretch, shooting just 20 percent from three-point range for the game.

Anika Jennings provided a strong inside presence for the Lady Indians, scoring nine points while pulling down eight rebounds and adding two assists. Kylie Akin chipped in 11 points, while Kinzlee Akin added five points and three rebounds off the bench.

Despite winning the rebounding battle early, Adair County was unable to slow Campbellsville’s balanced scoring attack in the second half. The Lady Eagles finished with three players in double figures and converted 16-of-25 free throws to help seal the win.

Adair County finished the night shooting 31.4 percent from the field and was held to just six points in the second quarter and nine in the fourth, as Campbellsville closed the game with a 15–9 advantage in the final frame.
