Columbia Police Department Monthly Activity Report: September 2025

The City of Columbia Police Department issued their activity report for the month of September at the regular scheduled meeting of the City Council. The department had over 800 calls for service and contacts during the month. 

This included issuing 60 citations, investigation of 24 accidents, and opening eight criminal cases. 

Lieutenant Justin Cross completed 40 hours in in-service training through the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Somerset.  

Tracy McCarol completed forty hours of in-service training in Richmond, Kentucky, for School Resource Officer Training. 

The department received a Ballistic Shield from the Kentucky Department of the Attorney General. 

The department recently participated in several activities with the annual Downtown Days. “We continue to be involved in the community,” said Chief Evan Burton.
