The Columbia City Council met in special session on Monday for a short agenda.
The council met in executive session for the purpose of:
Discussions between a public agency and a representative of a business entity and discussions concerning specific proposal, if open discussions would jeopardize the siting, retention, expansion, or upgrading of the business.
No action was taken in executive session.
Following a return to regular session a motion was made to: authorize the Mayor to work with the Department of Labor Workforce Development, Lake Cumberland Area Development District, Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet, Energy and Environmental Cabinet, and Bluegrass State Skills Grant Program on the development of a major economic development for the community.
This gave her the permission to assist with applications of grants, funding, and incentives for this project.
In other action, the council authorized the rodeo to have parking for the event at the Little League Park, pending insurance notification.
