The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office investigated a single vehicle injury accident that occurred on West Main Street.
According to statements given and physical evidence at the scene, Unit #1 was heading west.
The operator lost control of the vehicle, crossed over the opposing lane and left the roadway, narrowly missing another vehicle head on.
The operator then overcorrected and went off the roadway to the right, crossing Main Street again and striking the bridge overpass.
The vehicle then flipped upside down.
Speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors in the collision.
The operator of Unit #1 was taken to Taylor Regional Hospital to be checked out.
Taylor County Fire Department and Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS assisted on scene.
Kentucky State Police assisted in the investigation.
