Black History Month Honored In Columbia, Mayor Hoots Joined By Payne Sisters At Proclamation Signing

Black History Month has been proclaimed in Columbia, as a result of a proclamation issued by Columbia Mayor Pamela Hoots.

The proclamation says in part, “Whereas, Black History Month recognizes the achievements of annually by African Americans and a time for recognizing their role in history.”

The proclamation was done in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Black History Month 5K and 1 mile walk being sponsored by The Weathers Foundation in Danville, Kentucky.

Proceeds from that event will benefit the Agape House PSC, a non-profit Pregnancy Resource Center, located in Columbia, Kentucky.
