Beginning Genealogy Class #3 Set For Saturday, March 23th, 2024 At Adair Genealogy & History Research Center

A Beginning Genealogy Class will be held from noon until 2 p.m. [central time] on March 23rd at the Adair Genealogy & History Research Center of the Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.

This session is for the beginning researcher as well as the seasoned researcher. We will delve into the use of on-site records in the Research Center, covering each of the types of our records and the scope of each.

Anyone of any age is encouraged to attend to refresh their skills. If you attended the first and second classes, this one will continue with many of the same concepts—so come on back. If you did not attend the first or second sessions, this is a different presentation and you may benefit from Part 3 as much as from Parts 1 and 2.

It does not matter how much or how little you know about family research, this session is designed to orient the researcher and assist in locating information on family and local history.

No tools will be needed except a pen or pencil and something on which to make notes. Attendees may bring your own laptop or digital device to access wifi, but this is not mandatory.

Handouts will guide you through much of the session. Use of the existing genealogical-historical collection of the Research Center and the Adair Genealogical Society will also be highlighted.
