Adair County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Russell Springs Woman On Multiple Charges

On September 12, 2025 Adair County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to a car sitting in the roadway, about 8 miles out on E. Hwy 80.

Deputy Joey Keith met the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, while standing outside the stopped car, the operator of vehicle took off.

A brief pursuit ensued, with the driver backing into Deputy Keith’s vehicle and while also strucking a vehicle being operated by Adair County Deputy Nick Barber.

Pursuit ended when the operator of the car, got stuck in a ditch.

Annie McNelly, age 30, of Russell Springs was arrested and charged with: DUI, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st degree, 2 Counts of Wanton Endangerment of a Police Officer 1st degree, Criminal Mischief 1st degree and No Insurance.

Deputies nor the operator of the vehicle were injured.

Sheriff Gary Roy would like to commend the Deputies for their quick decisive action getting the impaired driver stopped.

McNelly was blatantly showing disregard to public safety by refusing to stop her motor vehicle at the direction of a law enforcement officer.
