Adair County Schools Invitation: Defense Of Learning Panel For Columbia-Adair County Businesses, Community

From Adair County Schools Director of Secondary Instruction Sarah Hatton:

Good morning,

This email is a personal invitation to you and others in your business/organization to join Adair County Schools administrators and teachers in providing feedback to our bi-annual Senior Student Defenses of Learning, taking place December 9-11.  We would love to have you join us in learning more about our individual students, their learning, and their plans for the future!

The defenses are a culminating piece of strategic work the district has been undertaking since 2022, when we set goals and plans to refine our school system based on the needs of our community.  Through a series of community meetings, we developed the Adair County Strategic Plan, and the Adair Portrait of a Learner.  You can learn more about these initiatives in this slide deck:  Developing Local Accountability

As a community member, we are asking you to provide praise and feedback – the positive points for our students and teachers that assist our students, teachers, and school in continuing to grow.  Administrators and teachers will be the ones scoring student work.

We have defense panels scheduled during the regular school day for December 9-11, 2025, at the times below.  Each time slot has 4-5 students who will individually present.  You are welcome to stay an hour or as much of the day(s) as you’d like!   Please let me know if you will be able to join us by completing the sign up form here: Defense Panel Member OR sending a reply to sarah.hatton@adair.kyschools.us.
