Columbia, Kentucky – October 17th, 2025

The Columbia Police Department brought its Substance Abuse Education Trailer to Lindsey Wilson University on Thursday, October 16th, 2025, as part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse.

During the event, Lindsey Wilson University students toured the educational trailer to learn more about the effects of substance use and the importance of making informed choices. Students also had the opportunity to wear substance impairment goggles and participate in a simulated field sobriety test conducted by local law enforcement.

Columbia Police Sergeants Trevor Foster and Jay Wilson, along with Adair County Sheriff Deputy Hunter Tweety, spoke with students about real-world impacts of substance abuse and the vital role of prevention and education in community safety.

The interactive session aimed to provide students with a realistic understanding of how substance use affects coordination, judgment, and decision making while reinforcing the importance of personal responsibility and community awareness.
