Columbia Man Airlifted After Motorcycle Accident On Knifley Road

On Thursday, October 9th, 2025 at approximately 1:13pm Central Time, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Officials responded to the 4600 block of Knifley Road, to a single vehicle injury accident involving a motorcycle. 

Upon a preliminary investigation, the operator of the motorcycle was determined as Levi Abbott, 43, of Columbia, Kentucky. 

Abbott was traveling South bound on a 2007 Kawasaki ZX600.

For reasons unknown during navigation of a curve, the motorcycle crossed the center line, went across the North bound lane and left the roadway. 

The motorcycle traveled the ditch line and struck a culvert before coming to a stop. 

Abbott was transported to T.J. Health Columbia before being transported by Air Evac to University of Kentucky Hospital. 

The Adair County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Adair County EMS, Columbia/ Adair Fire Department, Kentucky State Police, and Air Evac Lifeteam. 

Deputy Derek Padgett is the investigating Deputy, assisted by Deputy Hunter Tweedy and Deputy Josh Durbin.
