As forecasted by the National Weather Service in Louisville Ky, heavy rainfall & flooding is expected to impact Adair County Saturday February 15 – Sunday February 16. The forecast is calling for 4-6” of rainfall which could make flash flooding very possible!
Due to the ground being very saturated flash floods are going to be a major threat towards our area. Flash floods could make travel very dangerous as it will affect low lying areas, bridges & overpasses, so please if you see high water remember to TURN AROUND DO NOT DROWN!
Now is the time to plan for this weekend! If you live in an area that is prone to flooding have an emergency evacuation plan ready, prepare an emergency kit that has essential needs, make sure your phone is charged & make sure you have a way to receive weather alerts!
If you do come upon a flooded roadway please contact Adair County E-911 Center when it is safe to do so at 270-384-4760 or for all emergencies dial 911! Our local emergency agencies are getting prepared for this weekend as this is expected to be a major event!
