City Of Columbia Planning Multiple Events For The Christmas Holiday Season

The City of Columbia is beginning to plan their events for the Christmas holiday season.

Their 5th annual drive-through Christmas in the Park will be starting the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

It will be held at the Little League Park on Joe Johnson Road.

If your organization, business, group, would like to participate, please contact the Mayor’s Office at 270-384-6183.

You will be assigned a location at the park.

This year, the City will having the Live Nativity Scene, at the Citizens Park on Burkesville Street.

If your church or organization would like to participate with a Live Nativity Scene or caroling, please let the city know.

There will be a schedule of activities for the park.

The City Police Department will be having “Operation Christmas Spirit.”

There will be boxes located at: Burger King, Bank of Columbia (square), BYO Restaurant, and Hooligan’s Burger for those who would like to donate a toy to the drive.

Boxes will be at North Century Pharmacy, Certicare, and Bank of Columbia (Branch on Jamestown Street) for those who would like to donate to their sock drive.

This year the police drive will include assisting children; but, will also include assisting the elderly, including the sock drive for Signature Healthcare Summit Manor.

Cram the Cruiser events will be held at the Dollar General on South Highway 55, Dollar General on Russell Road, Dollar General on North Highway 55, and Save A Lot.

A special event will be held in conjunction with Walmart in Columbia, with more details to be announced.

There will be a motorcycle ride and car show with toy drive at Baker Street Repair.
