This proclamation is to recognize June as national dairy month in Columbia and to honor the
commitment of all dairy farmers in our community.
WHEREAS, Mayor Hoots and City Council for Columbia, Kentucky thank the incredible
commitment of dairy farmers for providing vital products to both our community and the entire
country;
WHEREAS, the state of Kentucky produces over S240 million worth of Dairy Products
annually and Adair County is one of the state’s largest producers;
WHEREAS, the residents and visitors of the City of Columbia recognize the difficulty and
sacrifice required to be a major dairy farmer along with the necessity of the service they
provide;
WHEREAS, in 2025 Adair County had the second largest dairy cattle combined herd in the
state of Kentucky;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Mayor Hoots and the City Council for the City of
Columbia, Kentucky call upon all people to observe The Month of June, as National Dairy
Month and show support to the farmers who devote themselves to delivering exceptional
products to this community and in communities across this great nation.
