Pike are investigating three residential burglaries that occurred

Two of the homes burglarized are located on KY 619 South
(Moores Schoolhouse Road) and the other on KY 1058 in
southern Russell County.

The thief(s) forced their way into each residence, then stole
jewelry and coins.

Anyone with any information pertaining to these three
burglaries is encouraged to call the Russell County Sheriff’s
Crime Tip Line at 270-566-9111.



Interstate 75 closure in Rockcastle County scheduled
for May 22-24
Nighttime closure for bridge demolition
SOMERSET, Ky. (May 15, 2017) – The Kentucky Transportation
Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that Interstate 75 in Rockcastle
County will be closed for two nights beginning May 22 to allow for
demolition of the KY 3275 bridge.
I-75 south will be closed to traffic beginning at 10 p.m. EDT on
Monday, May 22 and will reopen by 6 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, May 23.
I-75 north will be closed from 9 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, May 23 until
6 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, May 24.
Motorists traveling on I-75 south will detour via Exit 76 (Berea) onto U.S.
25 and reconnect with I-75.
Motorists traveling on I-75 north will detour via Exit 62 (Mt. Vernon) onto
U.S. 25 and reconnect with I-75.
In addition, KY 3275 (Hurricane School Road) will be closed to through
traffic at mile point 0.7 beginning on Monday, May 22 at 8 a.m. EDT. A
signed detour route will be in place. KY 3275 will reopen to traffic upon
completion of the new overpass which is expected to be completed by
Sept. 1.
The KY 3275 bridge replacement is part of the ongoing $31 million I-75
widening project between mile points 64.5 to 69.
The date and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or
other unforeseeable delays. Motorists can access travel and
