Nov. 30 Theft investigation

An investigation by Lt. David Cain of the Russell
County Sheriff’s Department led to the recovery
of several thousand dollars worth of stolen tools
and one arrest.

The tools were stolen late Tuesday night or early
Wednesday morning after thieves cut the lock from
a trailer belonging to Jackie Mann Construction
stationed at a job site at Davis Gate on U.S. 127,
about five miles north of Russell Springs. The theft
was discovered when Mann & employees arrived for
work Wednesday morning.

Acting on information received which included a
vehicle description, Lt. David Cain and Det. Joey
Hoover located the Dodge pickup truck just after
10:30 a.m. Wednesday at a residence on Dabney
Lane in Jamestown with nearly all the stolen tools
& equipment in the truck.

James Janson Turner, 23, of Jamestown, was arrested
and charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over
$10,000 in value. Turner was processed and lodged
in the Russell County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing. Additional arrests and
charges are possible.
